High Performance Computing

In contrast to the traditional methods of sequential processed procedural programs, semi-conductor technology has advanced massively that has reversed the landscape of performance limitation due to hardware constraints. Mathematical algorithms and programming methods have to be constantly reviewed and improved. This section is about massive parallel solutions in solving matrices, hardware acceleration from chip level native vector instructions, to shared-memory multi-threading, multi-processing, to highly parallel GPU computing and MPI. Applications ranging from imaging, aerospace and automotive engineering to server-side enterprise business applications processing. Software including but not limited to Matlab for prototyping, Java, C and C++, FORTRAN.
